Messianic Jews

Messianic Rabbi shares how he accepted Yeshua as Messiah

After a dramatic vision, a Jewish man studied the Bible as great literature, then finally accepted that Yeshua (Jesus) really is the Messiah of Israel. He then realized that his Jewish identity is still very important to God.
Glenn Blank is now a professor of Computer Science as well as the Messianic Rabbi of Beit Simcha (www.beitsimcha.org) in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The clip is from a TV show, The Living Truth, hosted by Pastor Larry Burd, on WBPH 60 in Bethlehem, PA.

Messianic Jews worshipping Yeshua (Jesus)

An interesting secular news story on Channel 2 news in Israel on the growing Messianic Jewish movement sweeping across Israel. This is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. The news report was on February 23, 2007.

Fascinating. I looked up the other Larry Bird...I could not tell if he was a Christian.

I have a comment from The Mistress of the Dark...

"The rabbis claim that it is not possible to be Jewish and believe in Jesus. See for example the words of Rabbi Aaron Moss from Chabad movement, who answered the question, "Can a Jew believe in Jesus?" in the following way: “A Jew can believe in Jesus, in the same way that a vegetarian can enjoy a steak”… Also, in his response regarding the Messianic Jewish movement he wrote: “This is a movement of non-Jews, who pretend to be Jews” How? “By presenting themselves with Jewish names.” These are weak and manipulative arguments, and we will show you why they are very much mistaken.

Rabbi Aaron Moss, instead of addressing the facts, he tries to influence people's emotions and treats every Jewish believer in Jesus in a condescending way. And without noticing, Rabbi Moss repeated one of the greatest lies of the inquisition; the lie that a person can be loyal to Jesus only if he denies his Jewishness. But the opposite is true... It is the gentiles who come closer to Judaism when they believe in the most famous Jew in the world, in Jesus.

Jesus the Messiah brought millions of gentiles closer to the God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Also from a historical point of view, in the New Testament, it was the Jews who first believed in Jesus and were surprised when suddenly also gentiles started to believe in him. Jews like us, who believe in Jesus, have always existed. The first believers in Jesus as the Messiah were Jewish, his disciples were Jewish, the first messianic community was Jewish, right here in Israel. Christianity didn’t exist of course, and there was no such thing as “Christians” - there were only Jews. And according to Wikipedia, in the world today there are close to half a million Jews who acknowledge the messiahship of Jesus of the New Testament. Even during the Holocaust, in the lines to the concentration camps, there were many Jews who believed that Jesus is the Messiah. (cont.)

"They can treat a rabbi honorably, as educated, great and holy... But as soon as he decides to accept the messiahship of Jesus, he is suddenly persecuted, and treated as an ignorant person and a traitor, all the while his elegant past is forgotten and buried as deep as possible."
