So sad:(

Yes, the devotion to materialism is very powerful in the West, and especially in the U.S.

I didn't know about the internet thing. That's horrific!

I agree. It is disturbing and shocking that people would encourage someone to kill themselves, and find entertainment in that. It helps me understand the mindset of those ancient Romans who watched people getting killed in the Colosseum and considering it sport, a little better.

Some people think of God as a 'cosmic killjoy,' but it is through God that we have regard for human life. Scripture and prayer have been removed from public schools in the U.S., along with all mention of God in the history books, and also the public display of the Ten Commandments; as a result, we have children killing other children in schools.

And I love what Mother Theresa said about abortion only being the beginning. I can hardly believe how desensitized our culture has become to death and suffering.

I agree. I saw this on Yahoo! Answers:

"Abortion kills a baby every 24 seconds!!!
1/3 Of this current generation has been wiped out by surgical abortion!
Since the start of the Iraq war, 5,679,920+ American children have died from ABORTION!
Abortion doesn’t make you “un” pregnant… it makes you the mother of a dead baby.
EVERYONE who support slavery was FREE!
EVERYONE who supports abortion was BORN!"

And I saw the following on The Free Lance-Star:

"About 150 abortions are performed each and every hour, almost 3,600 abortions a day, 1.3 million a year. Since the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, more than 47 million defenseless, unborn children have perished from abortion."

Thanks for posting this article.
