Look Out For The Police
REVELATION 6
"And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"

Your Revelation series gives me the thought, 'Don't mess with God'. In the end we all face judgment and without Christ we pay for ours sins.
Yeah, what was prophesied in Revelation will be horrible indeed, as God's wrath is poured out upon a sinful, rebellious world.
The increase in natural and man-made disasters, the economy, and a number of other things make me think that the fulfillment of Revelation may not be far off; for example, the the increase in Atlantic hurricane activity, demonstrated by the following excerpt from the linked article:
"The years 1995 to 2000 experienced the highest level of North Atlantic hurricane activity in the reliable record. Compared with the generally low activity of the previous 24 years (1971 to 1994), the past 6 years have seen a doubling of overall activity for the whole basin, a 2.5-fold increase in major hurricanes (>=50 meters per second), and a fivefold increase in hurricanes affecting the Caribbean."
We just had Fay, and now there is Gustav. The 2008 Atlantic hurricane season is demonstrating a continued increase in the number of hurricanes per year.
In this city, several large companies which have been around for many years have now laid off large numbers of employees. A couple of the smaller companies have shut down. I just found out today that my boss, the Graphics and Design Editor, will be one of the employees laid off by the middle of October at the city newspaper, as they are laying off the entire Production crew. As a Contract Graphic Artist, I'm sure that my job there will be ended as well. Now, this type of thing has been going on for the past 20 or so years (back in '93-'94, after working at a software company for 8 1/2 years, 12-25 employees were laid off each year over a 3-year span, and I was laid off during the 2nd of those 3 years), but it seems to me that things are getting worse. Similarly, rising gas prices have been going on for the past 25 or so years, but things are just getting worse.
I went to a film with my pastor and two other friends on Sunday.
We agreed that the Church in Greater Vancouver was basically hanging on to what it has presently. We are not gaining a lot of members and society is more opposed to Christianity than in decades previous.

That is sad and tragic. Sounds like prayer for revival is needed.
A friend of mine created a Fantasy Hurricane game online, where you pick from a list of names for that year (before the Hurricane season starts), and you get points if it becomes a tropical storm, and more points if it becomes a hurricane. You get even more points the higher the category it becomes. If it hits land, you get additional points as well. Plus points for life span of the hurricane, barometric pressure, wind speed, and number of casualties.
I know, it sounds like a sick game.
