Al Taqiyya

Islam mandates deception [taqiyya] when Muslims deal with non-Muslims. Muslims are allowed to lie to unbelievers if the lie is for the protection of Islam or the furthering of Islamic goals and objectives. In the cause of Islamic expansionism, Muslims falsely inform non-Muslims that: Islam is a "religion of peace", the Quran mandates pluralism of religions, "jihad" is only about an "inner spiritual struggle", unprovoked violence against non-Muslims is un-Islamic, immigrant Muslims wish to fully integrate into Western countries by adopting democratic principles instead of Sharia Law, Muhammad was a man of peace, etc. None of these things are true. Taqiyya is not about truth. Taqiyya is about deception -- lulling Western people into a false sense of security, while, in reality, Islam directs Muslim immigrants to "appear integrated" while actually living as a state-within-a-state...until they take over.

Taqqiyah is the technique of deception to advance the cause of Islam.

It is part of the Jihad strategy of deceiving unbelievers by any means.

Obama's conversion to Christianity as a -- taqqiyah -- which means pious deception, is where he would pretend to be a Christian in order to advance the cause of Islam by way of his political career in the United States.

If Obama is a Muslim believer, his conversion to Christianity fully conforms to the principle of taqqiyah.

"Taqqiyah" is a technique of deception practiced by believing Muslims in order to advance the cause of Islam. It is part of the Jihad strategy based on deceiving unbelievers by any means. Thus exercising "taqqiyah" is considered pious behavior.

Muslims around the world would overwhelmingly see Obama's conversion to Christianity not as a case of "irtidah" (apostasy), but as a case of "taqqiyah" (deception), where Obama pretends to have become a Christian in order to advance the cause of Islam by way of his political career in the U.S.

If Obama were truly a Muslim believer or sympathizer who aspires to the highest office in the U.S., his outwardly conversion to Christianity would fully conform to the principle of "taqqiyah". In fact as a "Trojan Horse" candidate, he would be specifically expected to disguise himself as such. In this context, Muslim leaders would not only fully understand Obama's outwardly conversion, but would also consider him an Islamic hero for doing so in the cause of Islam.

It is important to note that the sincerity of Obama's conversion to Christianity can never be proven, and the possibility that he remains a true believer or sympathizer as to the Islamic cause who is practicing the technique of "taqqiyah", is still a real risk that cannot be discounted.

In this context, one should also not overlook the close relationship and mutual admiration between Black Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan and Pastor Wright, Obama's former spiritual mentor.

"Taqqiyah" is the art of deception used by believing Islamists to further the domain of Islam. As Mo'mad said, "War is deception," which is fitting given how he died between military campaigns. The basic idea is to lie to get what you want. Since the punishment for leaving Islam is death, and since Obama was born Islamic and is therefore an apostate in apparently becoming a Christian, why doesn't the Islamic world seem concerned about Obama as they are when some nobody converts? Could it be they know something Obama's supporters would refuse to believe? The Palestinians seem to think he's their man, so does the Nation of Islam as several of his staffers are NOI members and Louis Farrakhan is another close associate of Obama. If Obama indeed is an Islamic apostate, why do so many in the Muslim world support him, including the most ardent jihadi?

Obama's First 100 Days

By Fr. Alphonse de Valk, Editor, Catholic Insight

May 8, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Catholic Insight, Canada's national Catholic magazine of news, analysis and opinion, recently issued a review of U.S. President Barack Obama's first 50 days in office. It has now updated it to reflect his first 100 days and the revised article is presented below.

The anti-life assault begins

The election of Barack Obama as president, Catholic Insight stated in a November 3, 2008 press release, would turn out to be a disaster for the advance of a pro-life culture.

On the most important cultural issue of all, the equality and dignity of all human beings before God, President Obama represents the greatest threat today. His leadership is being hailed as a sign of hope across the world and welcomed with open arms. He has a 100 per cent approval rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America, the U.S.'s leading pro-abortion organization. That rating is based on a record of consistently voting against the unborn.

Obama has told Planned Parenthood he regards so-called choice as "a fundamental issue" on which he will not yield. He voted against an Induced Infant Liability Act in the Illinois legislature in 2002; this would have given legal protection and medical assistance to babies born from botched abortions. He also voted against banning partial-birth abortion in the Senate in October 2007.

On another key issue, the integrity of the traditional family, in 2004 Obama called the Defence of Marriage Act an "abhorrent law" and added: "The repeal of DOMA is essential ... For the record, I opposed DOMA in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from 'marrying.'"

"We must be careful to keep our eyes on the prize - equal rights for every American," he has told homosexual activists. "We must continue to fight for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). We must vigorously expand hate-crime legislation and be vigilant about how these laws are enforced. We must continue to expand adoption rights to make them consistent and seamless throughout all 50 states and we must repeal the 'don't ask, don't tell' military policy."

Apart from issues of human life and the family, there are numerous other question marks surrounding Obama, many of which are covered by Dr. Jerome Corsi in his New York Times bestselling book, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality (see the review on page 32 of the April 2009 edition of Catholic Insight).

Inauguration

January 20, 2009 Barack Obama is sworn in as president of the United States of America. His original birth certificate is not available. He calls himself a "person of faith," without specifying what faith he means. It is not Christianity as founded by Jesus and entrusted to his Apostles.

In his inaugural address, Obama neglects to mention the American founders' emphasis on life and liberty as the first of the inalienable rights in the Declaration of Independence. Five minutes after Obama becomes president, the White House website changes from pro-life to pro-abortion.

Policies

January 21 The president is at work selecting members of his staff and cabinet while Congress, where Democrats have a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, sets to work developing policies and legislation to advance the agnostic-atheist attack on the Judeo-Christian foundations of law and order.

In Congress, Obama receives assistance from numerous Catholic politicians who have scuttled Catholic moral teaching in favour of "political correctness," I.e., various aspects of modern hedonism and the culture of death. While the overriding focus of attention during the first 50 days is the economy, the bailout of banks, various "stimulus" packages and the housing credit and unemployment crises, the anti-life agenda was set in motion from the beginning.

January 21-22 Obama signs executive orders calling for the closure of Guantanamo Bay (January 22), a ban on torture (January 22) and new rules regarding transparency and lobbyists (January 21). This is what draws the attention of the world.

January 21 Meanwhile, the White House website is updated - under the title "Civil Rights," for the LGBT activists, it reads:

- SSM (same-sex "marriage")
- Repeal the Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA)
- Repeal the army's "don't ask, don't tell" policy
- Pass "hate crime" legislation granting "transgendered" homosexual activists and crossdressers equal rights
- Pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)
- Promote "gay adoption" (I.e., motherless or fatherless homes for children)

January 22 Buried in the House Stimulus Bill, in Section 5004, is the "State Eligibility Option for Family Planning." This would make national Medicaid a money machine to the tune of $87 billion for family planning clinics in the United States. (Family planning in the U.S., as well as in Canada and elsewhere, means: "Planning not to have families," i.e., promote contraception, sterilization and abortion.) The U.S. already spends more than $400 million on overseas "family planning" assistance each year.

- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves a guide for the use of embryonic stem cells for human trial. (To this point in time, embryonic stem cell research has never cured or helped any patient; on the other hand, the use of adult stem cells already has some 80 medical achievements on its roster.)

- Two hundred thousand people walk in the March for Life in Washington, marking the 36th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision establishing abortion throughout the U.S.

- Obama issues a written statement that he backs a woman's "right to choose."

January 23 Obama overturns, by executive order, the Mexico City Policy of previous presidents that forbade the funding of abortions and abortion groups outside U.S. boundaries. (No TV cameras or press were present for the signing on a late Friday afternoon when news services were shut down. Hundreds of millions of dollars will go to support abortions in poor countries, especially in Asia, Africa and South America.)

- Appended to the statement announcing the end of the Mexico City Policy, Obama declared: "In addition, I look forward to working with Congress to restore U.S. financial support for the UN Population Fund." (That funding was halted in 2002 when a State Department investigation showed the Fund supported China's coercive one-child-per- family policy through forced abortions and sterilizations.)

January 25 House of Representatives majority leader Nancy Pelosi (a pro-abortion, pro-same-sex "marriage" Catholic) declares that contraception is now part of the U.S. economy.

January 26 Obama calls upon Democratic leaders to remove the "family planning" provisions supported by Pelosi from the $825 billion stimulus bill, after Americans and media outlets, such as the Drudge Report, ridicule the items as non-starters in stimulating the economy and creating more jobs. Senate Republicans threaten a filibuster.

January 27 A Congressional committee debates the Prevention First Act (PFA), which, if passed, would hand over millions for "family planning" methods, attack freedom of conscience rights for health providers and financially pave the way for the proposed Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), which would strip all states of the ability to restrict abortions and homosexual activism. The Prevention First Act was introduced by Senate majority leader Harry Reid (Mormon, pro-abortion) on January 6, 2009. The act claims to reduce unintended pregnancies and abortion and is based on the premise that contraception prevents abortion. (In reality, contraception is the gateway to abortion.)

- Susan Rice, Obama's new ambassador to the UN, pledges support for the convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Already, the CEDAW committee has tried to bully 93 countries into making abortion legal.

- The administrator of the USAID foreign assistance program, pro-lifer Kent Hill, is replaced with Alonzo Fulgham, the CEO of the agency, who announces that the reversal of the Mexico City Policy is being implemented immediately. Fulgham issues a formal notice informing field offices worldwide.

- The director of the UN Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), pro-abortion Thoraya Obaid (Saudi Arabia), welcomes Obama's restoration of $50 million to the UNFPA's coffers and its coercive population control plans. "Access to reproductive health (a code word for contraception, sterilization and abortion) is the core of equality for women and girls," she says. The funding had been suspended since 2002.

January 28 Obama tells Democrats to remove a bailout for the Planned Parenthood abortion business ($200 million for 295 abortuaries and 850 consultation centres) from the economic stimulus bill after vigorous pro-life protests, for fear that it might jeopardize the bill's passage. It is dropped on January 30.

- The Senate defeats an amendment to restore the Mexico City Policy, 60-37. (Eighteen of 25 Catholic Senators helped defeat it.)

- Pro-life groups continue their massive protests and opposition to the FOCA bill, which has been filed with Congress. The act would outlaw every abortion restriction passed by Congress, state legislatures or local communities. Obama has repeatedly expressed his support for FOCA, the last time on January 22, 2008, the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. FOCA's sponsor is Senator Barbara Boxer (Jewish, pro-abortion).

January 29 The UN children's agency UNICEF launches its annual report, stating: "Having a child remains one of the biggest health risks for women worldwide." It recommends global financing for "family planning" and "reproductive health services" as the primary way to reduce maternal deaths. It then admits that the statistics on worldwide annual deaths are subject "to a high degree of uncertainty."

- The Senate, by a 59-39 vote, rejects national medical coverage in the SCHIP program for unborn children and their pregnant mothers. This, pro-life sources say, will lead to more abortions, supposedly against the president's intention of reducing abortions.

February 5 Obama's new group of 24 faith-based advisors includes Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Washington-based Religious Action Centre of Reform Judaism, which was a sponsor of a 2004 pro-abortion march by Planned Parenthood and NARAL. Other pro-abortion members are added later.

February 6 The Senate refuses to remove a discrimination clause against the religious use of university facilities benefiting from the stimulus bill.

February 19 The federal government is drafting guidelines that will be put in place once Obama approves federal funds for embryonic stem cell research.

February 25 As feared by pro-life groups, the Omnibus Appropriations Bill cuts funding for abstinence education by $54 million, while giving more money to Planned Parenthood programs. This leaves only $95 million for national programs. This money disappears later on.

- Time magazine, in attacking opponents of the FOCA bill, is accused of many inaccuracies, non-sequiturs and misrepresentations. Time has described the bill as "mythical." Yet, Obama announced his intentions to sign such a bill in 2006, again in a July 2007 speech to Planned Parenthood and once more on January 22, 2008 on the Roe v. Wadeanniversary.

February 27 The Obama administration prepares to rescind conscience rules for health care workers. Obama officials tell the Chicago Tribune that, for the Provider Conscience Law and other regulations protecting medical personnel against involvement in abortions, they are opening a 30-day public comment period, after which they will rescind the law. Pro-abortion groups have long desired to coerce all medical personnel and hospitals into providing contraception and sterilizations and committing abortions. As one writer put it, "This is a declaration of war on all who oppose the killing of the unborn."

March 4 The president has begun consulting his top defence advisors on how to lift a ban on gays serving openly in the military.

March 5 The Senate, by a 55-39 vote, rejects an amendment to stop funds from going to the United Nations Population Fund.

March 6 Obama shuts out pro-life groups from attending today's White House health care summit, called to discuss how health care reform should be implemented. Pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, however, are invited to attend. Planned Parenthood's president, Cecile Richards, called for including access to abortion in any health care reform plan.

- U.S. bishops launch e-mail campaign to "maintain widely-supported pro-life policies" and oppose FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act). It is a follow-up to the postcard campaign begun in January.

March 9 Obama eliminates eight-year-old limits on federal money for the use of embryonic stem cells for research - which kills newly conceived embryos - by presidential decree, in a room packed with scientists. "As a person of faith, I believe we are called to care for each other and work to ease human suffering," the President said, (forgetting that human embryos are killed in the process).
Nowhere in the world has embryonic stem-cell research produced a single therapy or treatment. Meanwhile, adult stem-cell research has over 70 therapies to its credit so far. The President's Executive Order also removes the HHS Secretary's duty to pursue funding for adult stem-cell research.

- This ends ability of pro-abortionists, including President Obama, to say they are "pro-choice" because they no longer allow health officials a choice to oppose or disapprove.
- The HHS administration announces the intention to abolish the "final rule" (protection of conscience for health workers opposed to abortion, contraception, IVF, etc).

Appointments

During the first 50 days, Obama selected the most anti-life, anti-family radicals he could find for his administration.

Summary

The facts of the first 50 days of the Obama presidency seem overwhelming. According to the 55-page pro-abortion document, "Advancing Reproductive Rights and Health in a New Administration," $4.5 billion in federal funding will be disbursed at home and abroad to "advance reproductive rights." This document is posted on http://www.change.org, Obama's official website for his transition team.

Obama's Steps for the First 100 Days projects the end of the Mexico City Policy, the Hyde Amendment, the Kemp-Kasten Amendment, the Weldon Amendment, restrictions on emergency contraception (Plan B), the termination of all abstinence-only programs and a reversal of the recent HHS regulation protecting pro-life physicians and institutions. By Day 50, many of these had been accomplished already. Any present obstacles to so-called abortion rights not covered by removing these restrictions, such as the ban on partial birth abortion and state laws requiring parental notification, will be covered by the passage of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) or perhaps by many acts or regulations each embodying one particular aspect.

We draw the attention of our readers especially to the coercion which is built into many of these measures. A combined United States-United Nations assault on the freedom of poor countries to determine their own domestic policies on population is already underway.

At home, the Obama regime will take on more abusive, tyrannical features as it seeks to destroy the rights of people to disagree and dissent. All along, this has been the implication of the new legislated rights to kill and to overthrow the natural moral law in family and sexual matters introduced 40 years ago.

The president and his advisors will be making some 7,000 appointments who will influence policy; they will be pro-abortion ones, said one commentator, with the exception being the ambassador to the Vatican. What resistance the Christian community will be able to offer remains to be seen.

March 10 The end of the first 50 days. Except for publicity about the new financing of stem cell research and a mention of the overturning of the Mexico City Policy, adoring liberal daily newspapers have not mentioned Obama's new Death Culture.

March 11 The Obama administration opens an e-mail address for public comments to respond to the decision to dump the Provider Conscience Clause. The e-mail window will close on April 9, after which a simple Executive Order can eliminate the protective shield against discrimination for pro-life health care personnel.

- Obama establishes a White House Council on Women and Girls and appoints pro-abortion Chicago lawyer Tina Tchen as Executive Director. Tchen served as Vice-President of NOW (National Organization for Women). The new Council will examine all federal laws to see how they affect women, especially from the point of view of feminist "rights" supporters.

March 12 The United Nations Annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting continues in New York. The US delegation (Ellen Chester) states that "sexual and reproductive health and rights" will be a priority with them from now on. Their delegation considers abortion to be part of "reproductive health," even though in the past that interpretation was voted down by the majority.

- The Obama administration publishes a proposal in the Federal Register to rescind the pro-life protections for health care personnel in its entirely.

- The Senate stimulus bill contains a bailout package for Planned Parenthood.
- The Senate rejects by a 55-39 vote an amendment to stop US taxpayer funding of the UNFPA. The UNFPA backs policies of forced abortion and sterilizations, as in China.

March 17 President Obama's first federal judicial nominee (to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals) is pro-abortion US district Judge David Hamilton. The President is also bringing back the judicial reviews of the American Bar Association whose members regularly take a pro-abortion stand.

March 18 Cardinal Francis George of Chicago visits President Obama at the White House for an unscheduled visit. Purpose: to express the Catholic Church's opposition to the administration's anti-life agenda. Earlier Cardinal George had expressed the bishops' deep concern about Obama rescinding the conscience protection legislation put in place by the Bush administration.

- The State department confirms that Hillary Clinton will endorse the UN declaration calling for the global "decriminalization of homosexuality." That is a measure former President Bush had refused to sign. President Obama sent a $50 million cheque to the UN Population Fund.

March 20 Notre Dame University President Father John Jenkins invites President Obama to address the commencement exercises on May 17 and receive an honorary Doctor of Law degree. It sets off a tremendous adverse reaction among Catholics aware of the President's pro-abortion agenda.

- All four pro-abortion candidates for the Office of Legal Counsel, David Odgen, Dawn Johnsen, Thomas Perelli, Elena Kagan have received Senate approval.

- Various Congressional Bills are gutting abstinence education while promoting "comprehensive" sex education heavy on contraception. The Administration is now giving financial aid to Marie Stopes International, a British abortion provider with branches throughout Africa.

March 24 All during these weeks the media's entire attention is drawn to the President's economic measures running into the trillions of dollars. Barely a word about the "other" cultural agenda filters through in the media.

March 26 A mandatory national (Obama) youth corps is called for in GIVE (Generations Immigrating Volunteerism and Education Act - H.R. 1388) passed by the House (321-105) and by Senate (79-19). Note: In the USA, classroom indoctrination is now found in "Hate" and "Sexual diversity" training in 3, 500 units by Lesbian Straight Education Network(GSLEN).

March 27 In Mexico Hillary Clinton states that emphasizing and promoting abortion is a key issue in President Obama's foreign policy from now on. Clinton received the Margaret Sanger award from the abortionist Planned Parenthood group, two days after she visited the Catholic Lady of Guadalupe shrine in Mexico.

March 28 Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Dem) approves of including abortion in national health plan.

March 30 House of Representatives, with only eight nay votes, passed Bill H.R. 20 (S 304). It requires all new mothers, their spouses and children, to be evaluated for post-partum depression. This Mother's Act seeks to re-classify the natural process of pregnancy and birth as a mental disorder requiring psychiatric treatment and medication. The bill is promoted by the pharmacy industry.

- Another new bill introduced is the Prevention First Act (H.R. 463), promoted by Louise Slaughter (D., Rochester N.Y.). It requires all hospitals receiving federal funds to provide "emergency contraception," and all insurance plans to provide coverage for contraception.

- State Department's new top legal advisor is Harold Koh, pro-abortionist, until now Yale Law School Dean; "trans nationalist," i.e., he believes that American law and values must give way to current international trends, as they do in Europe. For example, Sharia law should apply in America. This office shapes foreign policy in the Courts and in international treaties. He is also Obama's first choice to fill an opening in the Supreme Court.

April 2 An amendment to keep the rights of conscience and protections for health care providers was defeated in the Senate, 56-41. Sixteen Catholic Senators (out of 25) voted against it, despite appeals by Cardinal Francis George of Chicago, president of the US Bishops Conference, and Rockville Bishop William Murphy to support it.

- These individuals included: Mark Begich (D., Alaska), Chris Dodd (D., Conn.), Ted Kaufman (D., Del.), Richard Durbin(D., Ill.), Tom Harkin (D., Iowa), Mary Landrieu (D., La), Susan Collins (R., Maine), Barbara Mikulski (D., Md.), John Kerry(D., Mass.), Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.), Robert Menendez (D., N.J.), Kristen Gillibrand (D., N.J.), Jack Reed (D., R.I.), Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.), Maria Cantwell (D., Wash.), and Patty Murray (D., Wash.).

- The nine Catholic senators who voted for the amendment were: Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska), Mel Martinez (R., Fla.), Jim Risch (R., Idaho), Sam Brownback (R., Kansas), Jim Bunning (R., Ky.), Dave Vitter (R., La.), Mike Johanns (R., Neb.), George Voinovich (R., Ohio), and Robert Casey (D., Pa.).

- The Obama administration is now free to repeal the protections by Executive Order.

- Nina Fedoroff, advisor to Hillary Clinton, claims the world faces overpopulation.

April 3 The UN Commission on Population and Development celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Cairo Conference on Population. The European Union, the US Obama Administration and Canada, propose "fertility reduction" and broad "sexual and reproductive rights." The Holy See and Muslim nations, on the other hand, do not see people as a burden to be controlled, but as a resource to be promoted. They propose poverty reduction, basic education and health care.

April 6 The White House Faith-Based Advisory Council is completed (full membership may be found on White HousePress Release, April 6, 2009). The list includes more pro-abortion and gay "rights" people, including Harry Knox - gay "rights" group; Rev. Peg Chemberlin - National Council of Churches; and Nancy Ratzan - National Council of Jewish Women. Pro-life advocates especially object to Harry Knox, the director of the "religion and faith" program at "Human Rights Campaign," a homosexualist "rights" group. In March, Knox described Pope Benedict as a liar and as a "discredited leader" (for rejecting condoms). He called the Knights of Columbus "foot soldiers of a discredited army of oppression."

- On April 10 Secretary of Education Arne Duncan appointed Peter Groff as Director of the Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Center in his office. Groff is the Colorado State President in the Legislature and Executive Director for the Center of African-American Policy.

April 7 President Obama, speaking in Turkey: "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation." He also stated: "We convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world-including in my own country." Comment by George Neumayr: Obama expresses his deep sympathy for Islam and his rejection of Christianity. His enemy is not Islam abroad but Christianity at home.

April 8 Vatican informally rejects three suggested Obama ambassadors over their pro-abortion views. Vatican denies all. Insiders give names such as Prof Kmiec and Caroline Kennedy.

April 9 Time for objecting to the overthrow of Provider Conscience Regulation ends. A national poll of Americans finds a strong majority (87%) want to keep protections in place. 340, 000 people had sent e-mails.

- President Obama has nominated pro-abortion Ron Welch as Assistant Attorney-General for legislative affairs. He will also participate in the Senate confirmation process for federal judges and US attorneys.

- The President signs executive order for embryonic stem-cell research under the slogan "science should triumph ideology."

April 14 Pro-life advocates are trying to derail the Senate confirmation of Governor Kathleen Sebelius as HHS Secretary because of her strong support for abortion, including late term abortions.

April 15 The Office of Intelligence and Analysis of the Department of Homeland Security (Secretary Janet Napolitano), issues nine-page report, which registers the pro-life movement among "right-wing extremism in the Unites States." Those concerned call the document "outrageous," describing the tying of conservatives and opponents of abortion to foreign terrorists as a radical deceit.

April 16 Mexico City. Speaking on protecting the so-called right of women to choose abortion, President Obama stated:"…[W]e must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information and prevention services."

- Defence Secretary Robert Gates states that the Obama administration will move cautiously in shifting policies to accepting homosexual activists serving in the military.

April 17 HHS Secretary Janet Napolitano apologizes for footnote tying opponents of abortion to terrorists. Pro-lifers are angry about this smear tactic tried earlier in the State of Missouri.

- The media remain exclusively concerned with: economic bailouts, credit cards, President Obama's foreign policy (reaching out to Cuba, Venezuela), CIA policies, the use of torture, Bank of America's underhandedness, and automobile rescues and management.

April 22 The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will not appeal the ruling of federal judge Edward Korman that the MAP (Morning After Pill) be made available to 17-year-olds without prescription.

April 23 Secretary of the State Hillary Clinton admits before the House Foreign Relations Committee that as far as the new government is concerned, the term "reproductive health" includes abortion. "The Obama government will promote abortions overseas." "We are now an Administration that will protect the rights of women," she also added: "The 20thCentury reproductive rights movement, really embodied in the life and leadership of Margaret Sanger, was one of the most transformational in the entire history of the human race." (Note: Margaret Sanger was a radical eugenicist and racist of the 1920's and the 1930's who lived and worked in New York City).

- The Administration's new International Ambassador, Melanne Verveer, White House Director for Foreign Women's issues, confirmed President Obama's commitment to population control as outlined, she claimed, at the UN Population Conference in Cairo 15 years ago.

April 27 White House expresses disappointment that former Ambassador Mary Glendon has cancelled her appearance at Notre Dame University.

April 28 Pro-abortion Republican Senator Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania defects to the Democrats.

- The long drawn-out Senate confirmation process for HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius ends in a 2-1 margin for the Kansas Governor (65-31). Nineteen "Catholic" Senators vote for Sebelius, indicating again that the issue of abortion means little or nothing to them.

April 29 The President urges Congress to pass federal "hate crimes" legislation (H.R. 1913) "to protect citizens from violent acts of intolerance." The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Act of 2009 grants the federal government authority to punish crimes that appear to be motivated by "hatred" of a person's sexual orientation. H.R. 1913 "serves only to punish individuals for the beliefs, opinions or convictions held at the time an act is committed" (Liberty University law professor Shawn Akers). " As such H.R. 1913 does not punish criminal intent, but criminalizes thought." The House approved H.R. 1913 and voted 249-175 for the inclusion of sexual orientation as a protected right. Here, as in other countries, no definition of sexual orientation is provided.

April 30 Abortion advocate Nancy Keenan, President of NARAL, "celebrates" the end of the first 100 days of the Obama Administration as a "milestone in these challenging times."

- Alas it is much more. Freedom of speech, thought and religion are now under attack. False "rights" are about to triumph. The Culture of Death is seeking to destroy the Culture of Life. In this it will fail because of the secret power on the side of Life, which will conquer even despite the mass apostasy of its Protestant and Catholic followers.

Getting a Handle on the OBAMA Birth Certificate “Conspiracy”

By Douglas J. Hagmann

"7 December 2008: Based on extensive research and review of nearly 1,100 pages of court documents filed within the last 60 days, the Northeast Intelligence Network has identified 19 lawsuits filed in various venues across the U.S. by a variety of Americans against Barack Hussein OBAMA, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Secretaries of State of several states, and other related parties.

The common issue of each lawsuit confronts the eligibility of Barack Hussein OBAMA to become America’s 44th President on January 20, 2009. Of the 19 lawsuits researched, thirteen-(13) remain active or somewhat active, meaning that the courts in the various venues in which they have been filed are considering the merits of the individual cases. At least six others have been dismissed or can otherwise be described as “dead-on-arrival” due to a number of different and wide ranging issues. Of the 13 remaining cases, however, three-(3) stand out from the rest based on the nature of their claims, each providing somewhat different perspectives relating to one core issue:

the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein OBAMA to take office as President of the United States
based on his citizenship status."

The worst is yet to come under President Barack Obama

As a result of the recent election, you may notice that I have been focusing more on political articles, rather than theological articles. The below article is one that was e-mailed to me.

Posted by Vincent Gioia
November - 11 - 2008

"Until now most attention to a Barack Obama presidency has focused, rightfully, on the likely socialist policies to be enacted during the next four years. Opponents have unsuccessfully tried to inform Americans about changes in the tax law to “spread the wealth” from the so-called “wealthy” to lower income voters. Though under the current “progressive” tax system this already occurs; President Obama will enshrine and expand the tax policy toward the Marxist ideal.

Other government policy and laws that will diminish our rights and increase government control have also been discussed by many but have fallen on deaf ears as the public focused more on rhetoric and style rather than substance. A loss of the sacred secret ballot for workers to the benefit of unions seems not to impress workers enough to affect their vote. The potential loss of private health care and the likelihood that government bureaucrats will make health care decisions did not diminish voter support for Obama. Even the appointment of liberal judges willing to ignore the constitution like Ginsberg, Breyer, Souter and Stevens did not bother voters captivated by Obama.

All of the above is sufficient to accept a non conservative of questionable judgment in place of the radical community organizer.

However not as well known are some very serious matters that will change our country forever. Under our constitution treaties take precedence over all federal and state laws and some treaties previously barred by Republican presidents will likely find smooth sailing under a Democrat-dominated congress led by President Barack Obama.

For many years we have resisted the insistence of the United Nations and socialist-led countries to sign onto the International Court where constitutional rights of Americans will be superseded by a court hostile to our institutions and individual rights and immune from US voter and congressional oversight. Our soldiers and citizens can be arrested and charged under leftist laws without protection of our constitution.

Of course a Kyoto-like treaty ignored even by President Bush will easily get ratified in the next congress and eagerly signed by President Obama. It will not be enough that our economy and individual rights will be saddled by new environmental laws but the country will be subject to international oversight to assure compliance with extreme regulations.

Rights under the Second Amendment will be jeopardized as gun control advocates will be able to accomplish what has been denied by congress and the U.S. Supreme Court as the United States signs a treaty to ban small arms and light weapons among United Nation member countries.

The Law of the Sea Treaty which has faced opposition in congress can become law as we surrender unilateral rights to foreign controlled agencies of the United Nations.

Who knows what effect on the country ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Woman (CEDAW) will have.

Will a requirement to participate in world taxes be far behind? One of the United Nations goals is to collect a United Nations royalty on all fossil fuels extracted in international waters.

We must also remember that Senator Barack Obama introduced legislation, (S. 2433) called the Global Poverty Act “to promote the reduction of global poverty and the achievement of the Millennium development goal by allocating $800 billion for this purpose. The laws reference to Millennium Development is short-hand for a United Nations declaration calling for the treaties and convent ions described above. Legislation like S. 2433 has already passed the House. After the 2008 election we can expect S. 2433 to move forward with lightning speed.

Those of us fearful of a Barack Obama presidency based on what is already known of his goals can only shudder at falling of the second shoe."

What do the election results mean to conservatives?

By Bruce Walker

"The results of the 2008 election mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. What do those results mean to conservatives? The results do not mean conservative candidates lose elections. Obama got a big slice of the conservative vote, largely because he portrayed himself as a post-ideological as well as a post-partisan candidate -- and McCain tried to do just the same thing. Ronald Reagan in 1984 was the last man to run as an unabashed conservative, and he won by the last true landslide in an American presidential election.

President Bush, admired for his personal honor and deep faith, was respected by many conservatives, but he was hardly a conservative himself. No man who nominated Harriett Meiers to the Supreme Court could be considered a true conservative. Anyone who could embrace the vision of Ted Kennedy for our national education policy was not a true conservative. Anyone who could create a new entitlement for prescription drugs was not a true conservative.

Bush was simply a decent man who was not a Leftist Democrat. As McCain found out, being a decent man who is not a Leftist Democrat means nothing at all to the Left. Both men, like Bob Dole and like George H. Bush, are good Americans, admirable people, and men blissfully unaware that the Left is not just waging battles on issues like more socialism but are rather waging war on our entire way of life. Bush, Dole, McCain, and Bush Sr. were not wicked failures because they were not conservatives. They were more like Chamberlain at Munich: They did not grasp the true depth and nature of their adversary and, they thought, their adversary might be reasonable.

How far have "conservatives" come from Ronald Reagan's famous maxim "If you can't make them see the light, then let them feel the heat." In other words, conservatives must lead. Or, as Reagan also said "All they can do is hang us from a higher tree." This homey, typical truth trumped all the mush of moderation that brought Republicans in such disrepute over the last ten years or so. Courage is contagious and so is cowardice.

When Republican "leaders" like Trent Lott sabotaged the impeachment trial of a sitting president because they feared political fallout, conservatives cringed. We conservatives, after all, do not involve ourselves in the public arena because of the goodies we might get. That is what Leftists do. We intend to protect the sacred values of the Declaration of Independence, which are utterly nonpartisan (the founding fathers, of course, dreaded political parties) and we do this recalling that the signers of that document risked all in taking their stand for transcendent liberty. Ronald Reagan, a Hollywood star with a starlet wife and lots of money, did not enter politics to get but rather to give. He entered to lead and not to herd. This is what conservatives used to do.

And this is the way conservatives used to talk: "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." Barry Goldwater defiantly rejected the idea that Leftists could place him on some invented "Far Right." He stood for specific things, which he recorded in books, and which represented an actual platform for conservative ideals. John McCain, the other Republican nominee from Arizona, would never have embraced extremism, even in the defense of liberty. The soft, warm, middle was his true home. The safe, predictable consensus was his real party.

He was in the good company of pleasant and worthwhile citizens like Tom Dewey, Wendel Wilkie, Herbert Hoover, and Gerald Ford. In a world at peace on a planet unscarred by a relentless ideological jihad on our values and our faith, these nice sorts would have made excellent managers of the republic. But war was declared on us long ago, long before September 11.

War was declared on us by militant atheists who sought to deconstruct all our values and to mask their crimes as science. War was declared on us by active, pernicious agents of the Soviet Union who sowed the seeds of racial hatred, gender warfare, and every other discord they could inflame and poison -- they were not in the business of calming and healing. War was declared on us by jealous and irreligious Europeans, who view our faith in anything as hopeless naïveté which it is their pleasure to debunk. War was declared on us by radical Moslems, who saw the version of God which serious Christians and Jews embrace as too loving and too peaceful.

War was declared on us, and the Left here joined the fight against us. War was declared on us, and notional "conservatives" tried to lead us. But, of course, they could not. While Ronald Reagan embarrassed the establishment by calling the Soviet Union an "Evil Empire," our putative conservative nominee would not even raise the malignancy of Jeremiah Wright. While Barry Goldwater nobly challenged federal grasping in 1964, his Arizonan successor called for Washington "solutions" to a Washingtonian financial disease forty-four years later.

What does this mean to conservatives? It means we must choose leaders who believe, even if their cause seems hopeless. It means that we must recall that liberty was not born in our nation in easy ways but at Valley Forge when Washington saw his men's bloody, frostbitten feet as he contemplated the loss of everything he possessed in life if he were to lose. It means remembering that Goldwater was routed in 1964, but came back to the Senate in 1968 with everyone - liberals included -- respected his courage and dignity. It means going back four years to the Reagan Funeral and seeing the long lines of thankful Americans who waited for hours just to say goodbye to the last true leader they had known.

We have hope now. Obama cannot end democracy in America and he probably cannot impose a melancholy quasi-official censorship. Obama can only assume total responsibility for what happens to us over the next two years. Please, conservatives, resist compromise! Make stands upon principle, like Reagan and Goldwater. Take the heart of Washington, the true leader of all conservatives, in fighting for what we believe even if the outcome is uncertain and the struggle is long. Contemplate Churchill in 1940, when he promised to resist rather than parlay with evil.

If we believe in God, then hope is ever certain. If we hold sure and proven laws of human experience, then we know that failed ideas in practice also fail. If we believe in the spirit of the American people and their nation, then we sense that though change comes in elections, the liberty to which we have become accustomed longer than any people in human history cannot be simply crushed.

We fight -- even today -- for our lives and the lives of our children. If we have not had leaders, we must find them. Victory may seem far off. But we can see it still. As another American wrote almost two hundred years ago: "Oh, say does that Star Spangled Banner still wave? Ore the land of the free, and the home of the brave." Francis Scott Key, like George Washington, were models of what conservative leaders must be. We had these men once, and we shall have them again."

Evangelicals responsible for Obama victory

November 6, 2008

By Bryan Fischer

"Here's the single most important takeaway from Tuesday's election: evangelical voters are responsible, all by themselves, for putting Sen. Barack Obama into the White House.

A mentor of mine was fond of saying that the church is the secret government of the world, based on Jesus' teaching that his followers are the salt of the earth, arresting the spread of decay, and the light of the world, bringing illumination to a darkened and deceived humanity.

As the church goes, he believed, so the world goes.

According to exit polling data, Sen. Obama, a supporter of unlimited abortion rights and the radical homosexual agenda, did not win a majority of evangelicals in any state in the Union.

Overall, 74% of self-identified evangelical or born-again Christians voted for Sen. McCain, who has a 100% voting record on the pro-life issue and supported the state marriage amendments which were on the ballot in Arizona, California and Florida, all of which won decisively. One quarter of evangelicals voted for Sen. Obama.

In my home state of Idaho, 80% of evangelicals voted for the McCain-Palin ticket, while just 19% voted for the Obama-Biden ticket.

Two things are particularly noteworthy. One, it's amazing all by itself that 25% of evangelicals found some way to justify voting for a presidential candidate who supported infanticide while a state senator in Illinois, wants to overturn every pro-life law in the land as his first order of presidential business, and calls the Defense of Marriage Act an "abhorrent" law which he wants to repeal as soon as he can.

One can only wonder what kind of teaching these evangelicals are getting on morality in public policy from their pulpits. Have they been told that the Bible teaches that, according to Psalm 139 and Luke 1, a woman carries a baby in her womb, and not a blob of tissue? Have they been taught that the Scriptures teach in Genesis 1, Matthew 19, and 1 Corinthians 7 that marriage is the union of one man and one woman, and that the Scriptures teach in Romans 1 and 1 Corinthians 5 that homosexual behavior is contrary to nature?

Secondly, it's clear that the simplest path toward recapturing America's moral compass is to create more and better instructed evangelicals.

Evangelicals now comprise 26% of American voters, meaning that of the 120,659,318 votes cast, 31,371,423 of them were cast by evangelicals. This means, bottom line, that 7,842,856 evangelicals cast their votes for Obama.

Sen. Obama's margin of victory in the popular vote was 7,576,856. This, you will note, is less than the number of evangelical votes for Obama. The bottom line, then, is that if all evangelicals had voted according to biblical standards of morality, Sen. McCain would have won the election by 266,000 votes.

Thus the most radical, left-leaning president America has ever had has evangelicals to thank for his elevation to the highest office in the world. He has been put into White House by evangelicals. Evangelicals all by themselves had the power to keep the most liberal senator in United States history out of the Oval Office and did not do so.

If evangelicals had cast their votes according to what they claim are their most deeply held convictions, we would now be talking about Sen. McCain's choice of cabinet members rather than fretting about how it will be possible to stop the pro-abortion, pro-homosexual juggernaut that will be unleashed on America on January 20.

And even assuming voting patterns remained the same, if evangelicals consisted of 37.5% of the electorate instead of just 25%, McCain also would have won. Under that scenario, McCain would have received almost 34 million votes from evangelicals, with Obama receiving just over 11 million, and the difference of 22.5 million votes would have been enough to overcome the 7.5 million vote margin that Obama received on Tuesday.

Bottom line: if we want to salvage the future of this country, all we need are more evangelicals.

The most patriotic thing we can do, both for the kingdom of God and the United States, is to bring our family members and friends into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Evangelism, in other words, is not only our spiritual duty, it is our patriotic duty.

If each of us brings one soul into the kingdom of God over the next four years, the faith community will double in size, and even if teaching in the church does not improve, candidates who respect the Judeo-Christian underpinnings of American history and culture will easily be elevated to office.

Thus the path forward for evangelicals who care deeply about the moral fiber of this country, the soundness of its public policy, and the future of the country we are leaving for our children and grandchildren is quite clear: We should pray and work (in that order) for spiritual awakening to come to America and especially to its churches, and pray and work (in that order) to see that America's pulpits are filled with men who without apology and without compromise preach the word of God."

The Culture War and Barack Obama

by Bill O'Reilly
from Townhall.com
Saturday, November 08, 2008

"The fascinating thing about Barack Obama's election is that few Americans seem to know exactly how the man is going to govern. Will he be a Nancy Pelosi enthusiast, a far-left guy? Or will he move to the center like President Clinton did? Even his devoted followers don't really know how he will initially use his power.

There's an old country saying: "You dance with the one who brung ya." Just hours after Obama's victory, the far-left MoveOn outfit issued a press release saying that during the campaign it had raised an astounding $88 million on behalf of the president-elect. The timing of MoveOn's statement was no accident: It was a subtle reminder that payback is expected.

For far-left zealots, the goal is a European-like entitlement culture where the feds provide direct assistance to those without a lot of money. In countries like France and Sweden, there are no demands placed upon those receiving government money; cradle-to-grave financial support is given to anyone earning less than a certain amount. If you want to gamble all day or drink vodka until your legs give out, fine -- you still get the check, the housing, the medical care.

Traditionally, Americans have rejected that kind of nanny state. But make no mistake: That is what the far left see as "economic justice."

And then there are "San Francisco values." That is the George Soros vision of legalized narcotics and prostitution, unfettered abortion rights, legalized euthanasia, and gay marriage, to name just a few social issues. Soros, a big-time contributor to MoveOn, believes America should be a libertine society where moral judgments about social behavior are unacceptable.

Where will Obama stand on those issues? He says he personally opposes gay marriage, but I can't imagine him working against it. He's also fine with abortion in cases where the health of the mother is an issue. Of course, the health of the mother could be a panic attack or a headache. Based on his voting record in the past, I expect Obama to be extremely liberal when social legislation is presented to him. I also expect Ruth Bader Ginsburg to have a new best friend if a Supreme Court opening occurs.

However, if Obama tacks to the left on entitlements and the controversial social issues, his appeal to working Americans might quickly diminish -- especially if the economy doesn't turn around. Even while Obama was winning liberal California, voters were overturning the gay marriage law imposed upon them by activist judges. The United States is still a center-right country when it comes to traditional values.

I believe Obama and his advisers understand that. But I am also sure that the MoveOn brigades and devoted liberal media outlets are hungry for more "progressive" change. This is a dicey situation for the newly elected president. The words "rock" and "hard place" come to mind."

Ten Ways To Pray For Obama

Personally, I do not see how any born-again Christian could vote for Obama. Obama said he will teach sex education to kindergartners. He is for gay marriage. He said he will remove all remaining laws regarding abortion, making any and every type of abortion legal in the U.S. His affections are strongly toward Africa and Islam, and he has refused to salute the American flag or wear a flag pin (until he was coerced to do so). IMO, I think he is far more liberal than Bill Clinton ever was, and I tend to think that is only the tip of the iceberg. I wonder exactly what radical "CHANGE"es he is going to implement, and I suspect that, for the most part at least, they will be very, very bad changes. But only time will tell, and much of my suspicions are merely conjecture and guessing at this point. No matter what, the fact is that Barack Hussein Obama is now President of the United States. And, in light of that, I think the following article by J. Lee Grady of "Charisma" magazine puts things in right perspective:

10 Ways to Pray for Barack Obama

Whether you are happy about this week’s election results or not, all Christians must unite in prayer for our new president. Please don’t forsake this responsibility.

It’s over. We’ve reached the end of the longest, angriest and most nerve-wracking presidential campaign in American history. Finally the “I approved this message” ads have ceased. The endless robot phone calls have stopped ringing. The debates, and the annoying post-debate comments from “experts,” are history—until the next election cycle.

More than half the nation is celebrating today while others are mourning. We are a divided nation, split into unhappy fragments by abortion, gay marriage, global warming, a failed economy and an unpopular war. Those who voted for Barack Obama have claimed a historic victory; some on McCain’s side are already looking for scapegoats. Politics is politics.

But when I got up this morning, I turned all my attention to the fact that Jesus Christ is still on the throne. His government is what is most important. Regardless of who sits in the Oval Office, the Bible says “the nations are like a drop from a bucket” to God (Is. 40:15, NASB). That includes the United States. We may boast about being “the greatest nation on earth,” but He who sits in heaven has a different perspective. Let’s take a big sigh of relief now and remember that God is sovereign.

I’ll admit this election did not turn out as I had hoped. I supported McCain primarily because I am pro-life and I prefer his small-government mindset. But now that the election is over, I’m not going to harbor bitterness toward Obama supporters or go into attack mode. Obama has been elected president of this country, and that means I have a biblical responsibility to support him in prayer—even if I challenge his policies.

Whether you voted for Obama or not, you need to pray for him. Here are 10 ways I plan to intercede for him regularly:

1. Pray for Obama’s protection. We already know that some weird, neo-Nazi fanatics in Tennessee plotted to kill Sen. Obama during his campaign. Let’s pray that racist hatred is not allowed to spread. Let’s cancel every assassin’s bullet in the name of Jesus. May civility triumph over bigotry.

2. Cover his wife and daughters in prayer. It is not easy to live under constant media scrutiny. Pray for Obama’s wife, Michelle, and their two daughters, Malia and Natasha, as they face invasive cameras, nosy reporters, maniacal fans and dangerous enemies. Obama is not only a politician but also a husband and a father.

3. Pray that Obama will govern with God’s wisdom. God rewarded Solomon because he asked for wisdom instead of wealth, long life or vengeance on his enemies (see 1 Kings 3:11-12). Pray that Obama will order his priorities like that. Despite Solomon’s tragic character flaws, his legacy was wisdom. We can ask God to give our president the same grace.

4. Ask God to keep our president humble. Many great American leaders became corrupt after they moved to Washington. The fatal attraction of fame, wealth and power proved irresistible. The only thing that will guard a man or woman from this pitfall is humility. May God deliver President Obama from the curse of pride.

5. Pray for wise and righteous advisers to surround him. Godly leaders cannot do their job alone. Even the best leaders have failed because they trusted the wrong people. Pray that Obama will not select his counselors based on party, race, pedigree or political cronyism but on godly character and proven wisdom. Pray also that he will not allow secret traitors into his inner circle.

6. Ask for the spirit of reconciliation. Some segments of our deeply divided society want nothing to do with Obama now that he has won the presidency. Even some Christians will be tempted to harbor resentment and nurse political grudges throughout his term in office. Pray that God will grant forgiveness and healing so that leaders on all political levels can have constructive dialogue.

7. Pray that Obama will adopt pro-life convictions. Many politicians have changed their views on key issues while in office. In the 1800s some leaders who favored slavery later denounced it. In the 1950s some who opposed racial integration later became champions of it. Even though Obama won approval from many voters because he sanctions abortion, God could soften and change his heart.

8. Bind all evil forces assigned to manipulate our president. The specter of Islamic terrorism looms over the United States, and dark forces are ready to infiltrate. Our only hope lies in prayer to the God who is able to expose and outwit the schemes of the wicked. This is truly a time for spiritual warfare, and intercessors must not come off the wall in this hour! Pray that no foreign government, terrorist organization or demonic principality will use Obama as a tool. We must stand strong against the spirit of antichrist that promotes dictatorship, persecution of Christians and hostility toward Israel.

9. Pray that Obama’s door will remain open to the church. The loudest voices of secular culture—from Bill Maher in Hollywood to atheists in academia—would be happy if religion were removed from public life. Pray that Obama, who claims to have a personal faith in Jesus Christ, will unapologetically welcome Christian leaders into his company and seek their counsel. And pray that false religious leaders (who claim to know Christ but deny His power) will not have his ear.

10. Pray that our nation will enjoy God’s peace and blessing during the Obama administration. The apostle Paul instructed early believers to pray for all in authority “so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Tim. 2:2, NASB). God’s will is for America to experience peace and prosperity so that we can continue to export the gospel to the nations. This must happen whether a Democrat or a Republican is in the White House. As we cry out for God’s mercy on our wayward nation, pray that He will allow us to be a light to the world as we finance global missions, feed and heal the world’s poor and share Christ’s love at home and abroad.

Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience

Posted by Cheri Jacobus

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.

143 days -- I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.

In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever. At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride.

Think about it!

Obama's Corn Fake

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY

June 25, 2008 4:20 PM PT

If Obama wants energy independence through alternative fuels, why doesn't he back imported sugar-based ethanol? This old-style politician knows it isn't grown in the Midwest and Brazil has no electoral votes.

Barack Obama says he represents change. He also criticizes John McCain for trying to drill our way to energy independence to add to the profits of Big Oil. But it's Obama who's playing politics by trying to plant our way to energy independence, buying votes with alternative fuel subsidies that benefit ethanol producers such as Archer Daniels Midland.

ADM is based in Illinois, the second-largest corn-producing state. Not long after arriving in the U.S. Senate, Obama flew twice on corporate jets owned by the nation's largest ethanol producer. Imagine if McCain flew on the corporate jets of Exxon Mobil.

Corn-based ethanol gets a 51-cents-a-gallon tax subsidy that will cost taxpayers $4.5 billion this year. McCain opposes ethanol subsidies while Obama supports them. McCain opposed them even though Iowa is the first caucus state. Obama, touted by Caroline Kennedy as another JFK, was no profile in courage in Iowa.

That subsidy was cut to 45 cents a gallon in the new farm bill, but more money was pushed toward other biofuels such as switch grass. The Democrats can't wait for offshore oil or ANWR, but they can wait for switch grass. The tariff on imported ethanol was extended. Neither candidate voted on the bill, but Obama said he supported it. McCain said as president he would have vetoed it.

If Obama is sincere about alternative fuels, why does he oppose imported sugar-based ethanol from countries like Brazil? He supports not only the domestic subsidy, but a 54-cents-a-gallon tariff on imported ethanol. McCain opposes both.

Corn ethanol is less energy-efficient and costs more. It generates less than two units of energy for every unit of energy used to produce it. Ethanol made from sugar cane has an energy ratio of more than 8-to-1. Production costs and land prices are cheaper in the countries that produce it.

This year, according to John Lott Jr., senior research scientist at the University of Maryland, 34% of U.S. corn — some 3.65 billion bushels — will be used for fuel. Putting this much food into our gas tanks hasn't reduced gas prices, but it has raised food prices.

Farmers in vote-rich farm states plant corn for fuel, not only raising the price of corn, but also milk, eggs, meat and even bread as wheat fields are converted to corn.

Last year, as President Bush was about to sign an energy cooperation agreement with Brazil, Obama said the move would hurt "our country's drive toward energy independence."
