RIFQA BARY IN GRAVE DANGER

This is an e-mail that was recently sent to me:

To all those who value life,

Please take a few minutes to consider the life of our sister in the faith Rifqa Bary, which is once again in grave jeopardy. On Tuesday October 27th, Rifqa Bary was handed over to Ohio authorities for placement in foster care in Franklin County. Over the previous weekend, Rifqa’s former Florida Guardian Ad Litem, Krista Bartholomew, made a very unfortunate and naive deal with Rifqa’s parent’s attorney David Colley that allowed Rifqa to be transferred back to Ohio. The gist of this (behind the scenes) deal was the following:

1. Because Rifqa’s parents are in the U.S. illegally, they refused and defied numerous court orders to produce documents detailing their immigration status. As a result, Rifqa’s parents were in danger of being arrested for contempt of court. The Florida judge who had emergency jurisdiction over the case said that even though the jurisdiction is transferred to Ohio, he was not going to release her until they produced the proper documentation that satisfied the court.

Well, in order to have the immigration issue go away for Rifqa’s parents, Mohammad Bary’s attorney, David Colley, cut a ‘behind the scenes’ deal in which the Florida court would drop the contempt of court issue regarding their immigration situation in exchange for an assurance that they would leave Rifqa alone and let her stay in foster care for the next 9 months until she is 18. This sounded like it was too good to be true, and it was! As soon as Rifqa was transferred into Ohio custody and the Florida court gave up their emergency jurisdiction over Rifqa and the immigration issue, Rifqa’s parents fired their own attorney that made the deal! Simply put, now that Rifqa was in ‘favorable’ hands in Ohio, all deals are off!

In my opinion, this was all part of a premeditated plan on the part of Rifqa’s parents and the organization called C.A.I.R. who has been advising them according to the Florida department of law enforcement report released to the public. They have since hired a Muslim activist attorney named Omar Tarazi that is no doubt influenced by the mafia like C.A.I.R. organization whose sole agenda is to paint a positive picture of Islam in America at any cost. (The slander of the Lorenz family, as well as the slander of 17-year-old Rifqa’s own character by releasing her prayer journals to the media, are perfect examples of how C.A.I.R. ruthlessly operates to accomplish their agenda.) They completely went back on the agreement that they made to leave Rifqa alone, and I believe they now are planning to continue to pursue to get her back against Rifqa’s will. C.A.I.R. wants her silenced both now, and in the future, because they know that Rifqa’s story of abuse is common among many Muslim families. Apostasy in Islam is not something they want to shine a light on. They know that as her story gets out there, there will be a massive exodus of Muslims just like her. Indeed, it has already begun!

2. If that was not bad enough, Rifqa went back to a hostile environment in Ohio right away. In an article posted on Saturday October 24’th, three days before her return to Ohio, the Columbus Dispatch reported that Eric Fenner, the executive director of Franklin County Children Services, has said that he has stated that he “has no reason to believe that Rifqa wouldn’t be safe with her parents.” Remember this is coming from the very person who has charge over protecting her!

Rifqa then arrived back to Ohio on Tuesday October 27th. Upon her arrival came a new set of restrictions that her parents and Muslim attorneys have been trying to impose on her from the beginning…solitary confinement! While Rifqa was being protected in Florida, they repeatedly tried to separate Rifqa from other Christians that she leaned on for strength and encouragement. Rifqa’s Muslim parents have been saying from the beginning that they don’t believe that Rifqa became a Christian on her own accord, rather they believe that her real problem is that she has been brain washed by other people through Facebook and over the phone. Immediately upon Rifqa’s arrival to Ohio, came new draconian measures to limit her freedom already! Franklin County Juvenile Magistrate Mary Goodrich put these restrictions on Rifqa at the request of the Franklin county children's services agency immediately upon her arrival back to the state of Ohio.

“Bary's use of Facebook was one issue that led to the situation, said Jim Zorn, a children's services attorney, who asked Goodrich to restrict Bary from using the Internet and her cell phone. "What we want to restrict is the other people, the other organizations, the other forces, that have interjected themselves into this case inappropriately, and has caused the additional problems that we've seen," Zorn said.

Zorn’s account of Rifqa’s situation is absolutely false! Where is he getting his information? It seems as if the Ohio director of children’s services in Franklin County is reading right out of the C.A.I.R. and radical Muslim playbook for this case. Facebook did not in any way lead to this situation. What led to this situation was the fact that a very bright and intelligent girl decided to leave Islam and become a Christian. According to numerous passages in the Qur’an and other Islamic scriptures, this is called apostasy and is punishable by death. Like many others all over the world, Rifqa faced this threat of death, or even deportation back to Sri-Lanka by her own family along with pressure from the Columbus Ohio mosque that her family was actively apart of.

What crime did Rifqa Bary commit that she would be held with such restrictions from communicating to the outside world? While it is legal for 17-year-old girls in this country to have abortions without parental agreement, this 17-year-old girl is forbidden to have unrestricted access to her phone or Facebook friends of her choosing! Is she under house arrest because she is a Christian? This sounds like Sharia law in Ohio!

Immediate Call to Action:

Before I get into the specifics of how we can help, let me say this about a very common misunderstanding that many Christians have regarding God’s sovereignty and fighting for justice. Many of my well-meaning brothers and sisters in the church have wondered what the balance is between sitting back, trusting God, and actively fighting for justice. Some have said that because I am fighting for justice in Rifqa’s situation, I am taking the situation in my hands and I am not trusting that God is sovereign over this situation. That is ridiculous to say the least. First of all there is a tremendous amount of support in scripture that commands the people of God to not remain silent in the face of injustice, and to speak and defend those who cannot defend themselves. For time’s sake, I will not list those passages here. If you need help finding these scriptures along with their proper context, let me know and I’d be glad to help direct you to the appropriate passages. All actions of justice should come from a heart of prayer first and foremost. It is from this place of prayer and intimacy with the Lord that we will find the courage, specific direction, and strength to understand and actually do what He is calling us to do! While not everyone will be called to do the same thing, the Lord will burden our hearts for the things that burden His heart as well. His sovereign heart and actions are carried out through the church, which is made up of people! We cannot separate ourselves from this. We are His body, His hands, His feet, His mouth, etc…

A lack of a proper understanding between God’s sovereignty and His heart for justice is what allowed the church to sit passively by in Nazi Germany as Jewish people were slaughtered by the millions while Christians were paralyzed by fear and did nothing. Corrie Ten Boom was an exception to the rule. She was not afraid, and she knew what God had called her to do. There should have been millions of Corrie Ten Booms in Germany at that time. This same cowardice and passivity is also what has allowed over 3000 children to be murdered by abortion each and every day in this nation with little or no outcry in prayer and public against this tragedy. We must get this right!

Now with that said, here are some specific things we can do for Rifqa right now:

Since most of Rifqa’s Florida support base is cut off from her, and she is now under the care of authorities that do not take the threat to her life seriously, I would like to ask you to help them understand that Rifqa is not alone and that there are many people who will not sit idly by while Rifqa is sent back to her demise. This does make a difference. Rifqa’s story must continue to be told for her sake, and for the sake of many others! Feel free to repost this article and pass it along to anyone you would like for the sake of getting the word out.

Please contact Franklin County Children Services and the Ohio governor’s office at the following addresses and let them know that you want Rifqa to be able to have the basic freedoms to communicate to the outside world, and that she needs to be protected from her parents & the radical Islamic community:

Most of this email simply isn't true (her parents are here legally, for one thing), but allow me to point out one thing to you: Ms. Bary ran away to live with a man she met on the internet.

Allow me to repeat that: Ms. Bary ran away to live with a man she met on the internet.

You've heard this story before, usually it ends with a naive teenage girl raped and killed. Which is exactly where it may end the next time Ms. Bary runs off with some stranger she met on the internet.

Personal Failure,

Most of this email simply isn't true

Your statement is incorrect. The entire email is, in fact, completely true. I would say that you are either lying, or ignorant of the facts.

The false accusations of kidnapping, coaching and brainwashing are lying attempts by Muslims using taquiyya (lying to protect Islam) and kitman (lying by omission) in order to get Rifqa Bary back to her parents, so they can cleanse their family's honor, and the honor of the community, by killing her, which is commanded in the Qur'an and the hadiths. Muslims use taquiyya and kitman to advance the cause of Islam and to dhimmitize Westerners into believing things like "Islam is a religion of peace." These are misconception that organizations such as CAIR, ISNA, and their supporters would like naïve Americans, specifically our elected officials and law enforcement, to believe. They do not want the truth to be provided to the American people about Sharia law being carried out in America under the guise of Islam.

Apostasy (Riddah) in Islam is a major ‘sin’ and numerous Islamic references call for the mandatory death of the person involved (regardless of where the crime/sin is committed). Rifqa Bary is in serious danger of losing her life for leaving Islam and bringing dishonor to her father and other relatives. It is imperative authorities begin taking the ‘word’ of Islamic scholars and Imams when they advocate killing innocent people for leaving and dishonoring Islam.

Islamic leaders talk out of both sides of their mouth, and when it is convenient or in their best interests they will use deception to mislead you. People need to fully understand that in Islam there is no country, government, or person more important than Allah.

There are no man-made laws that come before Allah. One need only review the video by a popular Islamic scholar in the U.S. (Ahmed Sakr) who informs young children to not follow the laws of the U.S., but to instead follow Sharia Law. Sakr informs the children they will all go to ‘hell’ if they follow laws set by Congressmen. Sakr says the Congressmen will all go to ‘hell’. Allegiance to America or our government does not exist if they contradict the teachings of Islam.

The vast majority of Islamic Centers throughout America teach the worshippers that ‘Apostates should be killed’ because it is a major sign of disrespect to Allah; the family of the Apostate is dishonored; and it may lead others to leave Islam.

There are several Muslim U.S. politicians who are very much aware that Rifqa Bary and numerous other children are also at risk. One should be asking why they are not standing up for this child. Again, the reason is because nothing or no one comes before Islam, not even an innocent child, if they dishonor the religion.

From the Qur'an:
(An-Nisa 4:89)
They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another). So take not Auliyâ' (protectors or friends) from them, till they emigrate in the Way of Allâh (to Muhammad SAW). But if they turn back (from Islâm), take (hold) of them and kill them wherever you find them, and take neither Auliyâ' (protectors or friends) nor helpers from them.

From the Hadiths:
Sahih Bukhari Book 52:260
Narrated Ikrima: Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

One such manual to understand ‘Pure Islam’ is “The Hudud” (Mandatory Punishments for specific crimes).
From the Hudud:
[1] “Death for hudd punishment for riddah (apostasy).
[2] “Whoever renounces his religion, kill him.”
[3] “The Muslim who converts his religion, kill him.”

Allow me to repeat that: Ms. Bary ran away to live with a man she met on the internet.

Again, you are either lying outright, or you are completely ignorant of the facts.

Rifqa Bary escaped to Florida, to go as far away as she could from Ohio, to escape being killed by her father, who threatened to kill her because she had become an apostate. There are many cases of honor killings, and apostates are commanded to be killed, and Shari'a law demands that they be killed. She fled to Orlando for asylum, out of fear for her life. She became a Christian 4 years ago, and had to hide it from her family, until her family's mosque found out and reported it to her dad, because in becoming an apostate, she had stained the family's honor, the honor of the mosque, and the honor of that Muslim community.

From my research, the Pastor and his wife are born-again Christians, with a desire to help those in need. I even personally met the father-in-law of the Pastor. Your vicious and evil attempts to malign the character of the Pastor are sinful and evil, and you seriously need to repent of your wicked lies. If you are merely speaking out of pure ignorance, then you need to learn the facts.

In Islam, an apostate (murtad) is a Muslim who renounces his faith in Islam. This renouncement may be by word or by deed. Muhammad, the Apostle of Islam, instituted the death penalty for the crime of leaving the fold of Islam. Until this day, the threat of this prospective punishment negates true religious freedom for millions of Muslims.

A book published in the United States, Reliance of the Traveller: A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law, is a translation of 'Umdat al-salik by Ibn Naqib (died 1368 A.D.). This Shari’ah legal manual explicitly presents the punishment for Muslim who leaves Islam. It states that, if a sane person leaves Islam voluntarily, the person is to be killed by the proper Islamic authority. However, if someone kills an apostate on his own, the killer does not face the capital punishment, because he has killed someone who deserves to die.

Although this book is published in the United States, it has not been denounced by Muslims. In fact, it is featured by many respected Islamic bookstores without a word warning that it advocates murderous acts contrary to human rights and constitutional law. Many fundamentalist Muslims believe that, even within Western nations, Shari’a law is supreme over all human legal systems. For this reason, some in the West who leave Islam feel threatened by fundamentalist Muslims.

By contrast, imagine the Christian response to a book claiming that anyone who departs from the Christian faith has to be executed by the government! And, if a proper governmental authority is not willing to behead the apostate, any individual may kill the offender, because he deserves to die. Such a book would be denounced by all Christians: Catholics, Protestants, and Eastern Orthodox denominations. Also, no Christian bookstore offers such treasonous books advocating the death of someone who leaves Christianity. This is not the case in the Muslim community where there are many books featured that state that a Muslim who leaves Islam deserves justly to be executed.

o8.0 APOSTASY FROM ISLAM (RIDDA)

(O: Leaving Islam is the ugliest form of unbelief (kufr) and the worst. It may come about through sarcasm, as when someone is told, "Trim your nails, it is sunna," and he replies, "I would not do it even if it were," as opposed to when some circumstance exists which exonerates him of having committed apostasy, such as when his tongue runs away with him, or when he is quoting someone, or says it out of fear.)
o8.1 When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to he killed.
o8.2 In such a case, it is obligatory for the caliph (A: or his representative) to ask him to repent and return to Islam. If he does, it is accepted from him, but if he refuses, he is immediately killed.
o8.3 It he is a freeman, no one besides the caliph or his representative may kill him. If someone else kills him, the killer is disciplined (def: o17) (O: for arrogating the caliph's prerogative and encroaching upon his rights, as this is one of his duties).
o8.4 There is no indemnity for killing an apostate (O: or any expiation, since it is killing someone who deserves to die).
o8.5 If he apostatizes from Islam and returns several times, it (O: i.e. his return to Islam, which occurs when he states the two Testifications of Faith (def: o8.7(12))) is accepted from him, though he is disciplined (o17).

ACTS THAT ENTAIL LEAVING ISLAM

o8.7 (O: Among the things that entail apostasy from Islam (may Allah protect us from them) are:

(1) to prostrate to an idol, whether sarcastically, out of mere contrariness, or in actual conviction, like that of someone who believes the Creator to be something that has originated in time. Like idols in this respect are the sun or moon, and like prostration is bowing to other than Allah, if one intends reverence towards it like the reverence due to Allah;
(2) to intend to commit unbelief, even if in the future. And like this intention is hesitating whether to do so or not: one thereby immediately commits unbelief;
(3) to speak words that imply unbelief such as "Allah is the third of three," or "I am Allah'' — unless one's tongue has run away with one, or one is quoting another, or is one of the friends of Allah Most High (wali, def: w33) in a spiritually intoxicated state of total oblivion (A: friend of Allah or not, someone totally oblivious is as if insane, and is not held legally responsible (dis: k13.1(O:))), for these latter do not entail unbelief;
(4) to revile Allah or His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace);
(5) to deny the existence of Allah, His beginningless eternality, His endless eternality, or to deny any of His attributes which the consensus of Muslims ascribes to Him (dis: v1);
(6) to be sarcastic about Allah's name, His command, His interdiction, His promise, or His threat;
(7) to deny any verse of the Koran or anything which by scholarly consensus (def: b7) belongs to it, or to add a verse that does not belong to it;
(8) to mockingly say, "I don't know what faith is";
(9) to reply to someone who says, "There is no power or strength save through Allah": "Your saying 'There's no power or strength, etc.' won't save you from hunger";
(10) for a tyrant, after an oppressed person says, "This is through the decree of Allah," to reply, "I act without the decree of Allah";
(11) to say that a Muslim is an unbeliever (kafir) (dis: w47) in words that are uninterpretable as merely meaning he is an ingrate towards Allah for divinely given blessings (n: in Arabic, also "kafir");
(12) when someone asks to be taught the Testification of Faith (Ar. Shahada, the words, "La ilaha ill Allahu Muhammadun rasulu Llah" (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)), and a Muslim refuses to teach him it;
(13) to describe a Muslim or someone who wants to become a Muslim in terms of unbelief (kufr);
(14) to deny the obligatory character of something which by the consensus of Muslims (ijma', def: b7) is part of Islam, when it is well known as such, like the prayer (salat) or even one rak'a from one of the five obligatory prayers, if there is no excuse (def: u2.4);
(15) to hold that any of Allah's messengers or prophets are liars, or to deny their being sent;

(n: 'Ala' al-Din 'Abidin adds the following:

(16) to revile the religion of Islam;
(17) to believe that things in themselves or by their own nature have any causal influence independent of the will of Allah;
(18) to deny the existence of angels or jinn (def: w22), or the heavens;
(19) to be sarcastic about any ruling of the Sacred Law;
(20) or to deny that Allah intended the Prophet's message (Allah bless him and give him peace) to be the religion followed by the entire world (dis: w4.3-4) (al-Hadiyya al-'Ala'iyya (y4), 423-24).)

There are others, for the subject is nearly limitless. May Allah Most High save us and all Muslims from it.)

Quotation from: Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri, Reliance of the Traveller: A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law, Translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller, Amana Publications, Beltsville, MD, 1997 Revised Edition, p. 595-598.)

Still praying for her (and her parents).

Thanks, Greg.

There are many ex-Muslims who have accepted Christ, and I am finding out about more and more who constantly receive death threats, many of them even though they have escaped to the U.S.

Rifqa must have it really, really hard. She is only 17 years old, and she knows that her family, especially her dad, wants her dead. Not only her family, but the entire Muslim community in the area of Ohio where her family lives. Her family's mosque are the ones who found out, by seeing what she wrote on Facebook, that she had become a Christian (after she had been hiding that fact for years), and they reported it to her father, telling him to take care of it. How must it feel for a 17-year-old girl to know that her family is seeking to kill her? And, it's not because her family is crazy or insane. It's because the religion they follow, which is not only a religion, but also a political and cultural ideology that affects every aspect of their life, including the way they dress, what they eat, etc., demands that apostates must be killed.

And to make matters worse, devout Muslims zealously practice Da'wa (Muslim missionary activity; literally, it means 'to call upon' or 'to invite'), which includes taquiyya (lying to protect Islam) and kitman (lying by omission) in order to convert the USA (and the West) to Islam. Al-Taquiyya and kitman are tactics that are encouraged and honored by Islam, because 'war is deceit.'

Islam has two faces. There is a dualism in Islam. There is an outward peaceful face which says that 'Islam is a religion of peace,' and that 'Muslims don't do those kinds of things (i.e., kill apostates, honor killings, etc.). But there is also, with devout Muslims, the hidden militant face. And the reason Muslims can lie and get away with this is because there are, in a sense, two Qur'ans. For the first 10 years of Muhammad's life, he preached in Mecca, which is reflected in the Qur'an with such verses as, "Let there be no compulsion in religion." (Qur'an 2:256). It is these kinds of verses that Muslims use to 'prove' that they 'don't do those horrible things' (like kill apostates). However, for the next 13 years of Muhammad's life, Muhammad was kicked out of Mecca, so he went to Medina, where he then attacked and killed those in Mecca who rejected his message. He had a grudge against them. It was then that he began practicing terrorism and gained control. He basically failed as a preacher (in Mecca), because he only gained 150 followers. But he was a great success (in Medina) as a political and military leader. It was during this 2nd stage of Muhammad's life when he wrote the verses that Muslims follow when they kill apostates, etc. Verses such as, "Slay the unbelievers wherever ye find them, and seize them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them." (Qur'an 9:5) And in the Qur'an, there is a principle called abrogation, which is where the later verses (the militant ones) replace the earlier verses (the peaceful ones).

The NOOR mosque, which is the one in Ohio that Rifqa's family attends, has been tied to terrorist activities, and to supporting terrorism against the U.S.

Also, CAIR, which is a group that has been helping Rifqa's parents to influence the courts and force Rifqa back with her parents, stands for Counsel for American Islamic Relations, and provides legal protection for Muslims. They have been coined as the "Muslim Mafia." I've read that they are basically thugs and bullies who have ties with terrorism.

"Shortly after Ayatollah Khomeini issued his infamous "fatwa" (decree) sentencing Salman Rushdie to death for the novel The Satanic Verses, in March 1989, London's Observer newspaper published a letter from a Pakistani Muslim. The writer, who remained anonymous, stated, "Salman Rushdie speaks for me," and continued by explaining:

"(M)ine is a voice that has not yet found expression in newspaper columns. It is the voice of those who are born Muslims but wish to recant in adulthood, yet are not permitted to on pain of death. Someone who does not live in an Islamic society cannot imagine the sanctions, both self-imposed and external, that militate against expressing religious disbelief. ‘I don't believe in God’ is an impossible public utterance even among family and friends...So we hold our tongues, those of us who doubt."

“It is profoundly disturbing that the author's reasoned, scholarly writings are viewed as so incendiary that he must continue to write under a pseudonym ("Ibn Warraq") to preserve his physical safety. This prudent security measure is perhaps most warranted now, following the publication of his latest work, Leaving Islam: Apostates Speak Out, a compilation of Warraq's own brilliant essays, and harrowing, poignant testimonials from other ex-Muslim "apostates."

An “apostate” is someone who renounces or abandons his religious faith. As Warraq notes, apostasy is a rather banal, innocuous phenomenon in Western societies because:

"The very notion of apostasy has vanished from the West, where one talks of being a 'lapsed Catholic' or 'nonpracticing Christian' rather than an 'apostate.' There are certainly no penal sanctions for converting from Christianity to any…superstitious flavor of the month, from New Ageism to Islam."

However, in stark contrast, as Warraq's Preface makes clear:

"All the testimonies here are witnesses to the authors' courage, for a free discussion of Islam remains rare and dangerous, certainly in the Islamic world and even in our politically correct times in the West. A surprising number of the apostates decided to write under their real names, a triumphant gesture of defiance and freedom. Many, on the other hand have chosen to write pseudonymously, and since this is a fact that seems to irritate many in the secular West, I shall briefly indicate the reasons why. Apostasy is still punishable by long prison sentences and even death in many Islamic countries such as Pakistan and Iran, and as many of our authors have relatives in those countries, whom they regularly visit, it is common sense and simple prudence not to use their real names."

http://97.74.65.51/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=17139

Jeff said...

"However, even in Algeria, a country currently ravaged by brutal Islamist violence (for example in the Kabylie), Warraq writes that one particular church recently recorded fifty baptisms a year. Despite these very modest sounding numbers, this open avowal of apostasy is quite a striking phenomenon, he observes, "in a country where a woman wearing lipstick could result in an entire family, elderly women and children included, having their throats cut."

Elsewhere, Warraq makes the disturbing observation: "The absence of any mention of apostasy in some penal codes of Islamic countries, of course, in no way implies that a Muslim in the country concerned is free to leave his religion. In reality, the lacunae in the penal codes are filled by Islamic law. Mahmud Mahammad Taha was hanged for apostasy in Sudan in 1985, even though the Sudanese Penal Code of 1983 did not mention such a crime."

"The remainder of Leaving Islam is largely devoted to the apostates' testimonies. Who are the apostates testifying in this collection? Warraq elaborates:

“No quick portrait of the typical apostate is likely to appear - some are young (students in their teens), some are middle-aged with children; some are scientists, while others are economists, businesspeople, or journalists; some are from Bangladesh, others from Pakistan, India, Morocco, Egypt, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, or Iran. Our witnesses, nonetheless, do have certain moral and intellectual qualities in common: for instance, they are all comparatively well educated, computer literate with access to the Internet, and rational, with the ability to think for themselves. However, what is most striking is the fearlessness, their moral courage, and their moral commitment to telling the truth. They all face social ostracism, the loss of friends and family, a deep inner spiritual anguish and loneliness - and occasionally the death penalty if discovered. Their decisions are not frivolously taken, but the ineluctable result of rational thinking.”

And it is the searing testimonies themselves that grip the reader. Apostate Muhammad bin Abdullah’s eloquent, wrenching reflections on the genocidal massacres committed in Bangladesh in 1971 capture the sentiments expressed by many of the contributors:

“I saw a well-equipped invading army indiscriminately killing millions of civilians and raping 200,000 women. Eight million uprooted people walked barefoot to take refuge in a neighboring country. The institution of Islamic leadership supported the invading army actively, in capturing and killing freedom fighters and non-Muslims, and raping women on a massive scale. Each of 4,000 mosques became the ideological powerhouses of the mass killers and mass rapists, and these killers and rapists – these Islamists – were the same people of the same land as the freedom fighters and raped women. That was the civilians of Bangladesh and the killer army of Pakistan in 1971. All the Muslim countries and communities of the world either stood idle, or actively sided with the killers and rapists in the name of Islam…The message was clear: something was very wrong – either with all the Islamic leaders, or with Islam itself (emphasis in original)."

”Again and again, Islam was mortgaged in the hands of killer leadership, while the rest of the Muslim world only said “this is not real Islam…All those sweet peace talks of Islam relate to the time and place of weak Islam in early years. But whenever and wherever Muslims were and are strong, they have another set of cruel laws and conduct. Tell me why the national flags of many Muslim countries have swords on them – a sword is not for shaving beards, it’s only for killing….”

"Azam Kamguian notes that the Koran (in section IV.34) encourages husbands to admonish their wives, then leave them, and finally to physically beat them. She further describes the brutal “sexual apartheid” Iranian women suffer under when subjected to Shari’a law:

- Women are stoned to death for engaging in voluntary sexual relations

- Women do not have the right to choose their clothing; hijab is mandatory

- Women are segregated from men in every aspect of public life. The penalty for breaking the rules of segregation and hijab is insult, cash fines, expulsion, deprivation of education, unwanted marriage, arrest, imprisonment, beating, and flogging. I call this sexual apartheid

- Women are barred from taking employment in a large number of occupations simply because these jobs would compromise their chastity. A married woman can be employed only if she has the consent of her husband. The main duty of women is considered to be taking care of home and children and serving their husbands.

- Woman are not free to choose their own academic or vocational fields of study

- The legal age of marriage for girls is nine years. Women have no right to choose a husband without consent of their father, or in the absence of their father, the paternal grandfather

- Women do not have equal rights to divorce. Only under extreme conditions such as insanity of their spouse can they file for divorce. In the event of divorce, the father has legal custody of boys after the age of two, and girls after the age of seven. The mother loses this minimal right as soon as she remarries

- Women do not have the right to acquire passports and travel without the written permission of their husbands/fathers

- Women have no rights to the common property of the family

- Women are officially declared temperamental. Their decisions are considered to be based not on reason but on sentiments. They are, on these grounds, barred from the profession of law, and deprived of the opportunity to become judges

- In the courts of law the testimony of two women counts as that of one man, and the testimony of any number of women is invalidated in the absence of a minimum of one male

She also points out the role of left-wing multiculturalists in enabling this anti-woman agenda, which subjected many (including the author herself) to imprisonment and torture:

“When I came to the West in the early 1990s, I was faced with the fact that the majority of intellectuals, mainstream media, academics, and feminists, in the name of respecting ‘other cultures,’ were trying to justify Islam by dividing it into fundamentalist and moderate, progressive and reactionary, Medina’s and Mecca’s, Muhammad’s and Kholafa’s, folksy and nonfolksy. For people like me, the victims of Islam in power, it was suffocating to listen to and to have to refute endless tales to justify the terror and bloodshed committed by Islamic movements and Islamic governments in Iran and in the region."

I think Rifqa has 9 more months before she turns 18, and I believe I read that Ohio has no emancipation. She tried running away on her own once, and they are still working that out, but things are looking worse and worse for her. Her family is against her. Her family's Muslim mosque is against her. The Muslim community where her family lives is against her. The newspapers are against her. All devout Muslims in the U.S. and abroad are adamantly against her, and have worked very hard and very diligently to malign and smear her character and the character of the Pastor who first took her in when she ran away to escape being killed, as well as to escape the constant child abuse (her father punching her, slamming her against the wall, etc.) she put up with for many years. And, it seems, even the law is against her.

Amina and Sarah Said, who were both killed by their Muslim father in an honor killing in Texas on Jan. 1, 2008 (for dating non-Muslim boys), also had to put up with child abuse and even rape by their father for most of their life. When Amina was a sophomore at Euless Trinity High School, a friend said she showed up at school with red welts across her arms and back. Another time, Amina confided that her father had kicked her in the face. “He found notes from her boyfriend,” said a 17-year-old Trinity senior, who asked not to be identified. “Her lips were pretty much attached to her braces, but they wouldn’t take her to the doctor because her family feared her father would be taken to jail.” She said the abuse continued and threats intensified. “I remember her telling me that her dad told her he would take her back to Egypt and have her killed,” she said. “He said it’s OK to do that over there if you dishonor your family.” Islam, the brother, is just as guilty as his dad. Why? Because when Amina would not go back home (the two sisters and the mother had moved away from the father), the brother, Islam, went over where Amina was staying and told her, “Please come home, Amina, and talk things out with Dad! He will not hurt you, I give you my word! I promise, you will be safe!” She trusted those words and went with him. Not an hour later, Sarah made that infamous 911 call, where she said, as she was dying, that she had been shot by her dad. She died immediately after she called, as the father took his time killing her, shooting her 9 times, with the gun barrel pressed against the skin, in areas where she would not die immediately, but slowly. However, he shot Amina twice in the chest, where she would be killed instantly. I'm not sure why he wanted to kill Amina immediately but make Sarah suffer, but I read that he hated Amina (even though he raped her when she was 8 or 9 years old), whereas he was constantly flirting with Sarah. The father is still wanted by the FBI, but has not been found, and it is suspected that he fled back to his native Egypt.

So, Rifqa has all the cards stacked against her, it seems.

Praise God that she has the Lord on her side, however, and that she has eternal life in Christ. No matter what happens to her, when she dies, she will spend eternity in Paradise...in Heaven. Otherwise, she would have no hope at all.

CNN for the Jeff

Thanks very much for that helpful contribution, Russ. I was reading that story earlier on another website. Man, between terrorist acts, honor killings, killing for apostasy, beating up of women for things like not wearing the hijab, Islamic beheadings, Islamic slavery, cutting off hands and feet for crimes committed, female circumcision, etc., hundreds, and maybe even thousands, of stories could be reported; and this is despite the fact that most of those stories never even get reported, because the Islamic world is usually silent on such issues, and does not want such news to reach the free world.

The following e-mail was forwarded to me by some missionary friends. I have removed the name of the sender:

"GRAVE DANGER, OR JUST 'ELEVATED' DANGER FOR RIFQA BARY? (an important update regarding Rifqa Bary's situation in Ohio- 30 Oct. 2009)

To all concerned,

Let me begin this article by saying THANK YOU! From the beginning of Rifqa Bary's situation, many people from around the country have rallied to stand with her in prayer, and support in numerous ways. When a request for funding was needed, you responded in miraculous ways. When you were asked to email the governor's office in Florida, you responded in miraculous ways. As you know, she was sent back to Ohio last week. After the unfortunate 'back room' deal (that I mentioned in my last article) to protect Rifqa fell through because of Rifqa's parents deception, you were asked to respond by contacting the Ohio governor's office and Franklin county children's services. The response was AMAZING! They stated that they were inundated with a tremendous amount of phone calls and emails. They now know that many people are watching this case very closely, and care about her survival and well being.

Upon her return to Ohio, the Ohio authorities put restrictions on her communication abilities by monitoring her cell phone and internet usage as if she has done something wrong. This sounds more like communist China, Saddam's Iraq, or Iran. It should not be happening in Ohio. The reasons they stated as to why they were putting those restrictions on her were even more troubling and revealing regarding their thinking about the case. If you have not read my last article about this situation, I would encourage you to do so.

I write to you today because there seems to be a very important question that some are asking today that I cannot be silent about. I will state this question to you, and I will tell you what I believe about this question from the bottom of my heart. You must answer this question yourselves and decide where the truth lies.

IS RIFQA BARY IN GRAVE DANGER, OR JUST ELEVATED DANGER?

My assertion that Rifqa Bary was in grave danger upon her return to Ohio was immediately challenged after I released my last article. The challenge was made that she is not in actuality in grave danger, but just a more elevated state of danger than she was in Florida. The question has greatly perplexed me. I do believe that this is an important question because it will radically affect our response to her situation. Personally speaking, in the past I tried to convince myself that Rifqa Bary was only in slight danger, but I now wholeheartedly believe that she has been, and continues to be in GRAVE DANGER. Let me explain to you my personal journey with this situation, and why I am saying this now.

I first met Rifqa Bary in August of 2008 in Ohio after she contacted me through facebook. She listened to a sermon I gave at a local church and learned that we have similar backgrounds. She wanted to hear my story and my experience with Islam. I have to be honest, I normally would not meet up with a 16 year old that I do not know, but this was different. Deep down in my soul, I knew that I had to meet her. My family and I met her for coffee in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. Rifqa was at this time still living a secret Christian life. What I witnessed in her from that first meeting radically changed my life. I witnessed an incredible love for God that I have honestly never witnessed before.

In addition to hearing and seeing her incredible love for God, I also heard and saw the affects of abuse and tremendous suffering. Rifqa has suffered greatly. At that first meeting I asked Rifqa if she would ever openly tell her parents of her faith in Jesus as the Messiah, the lamb of God who paid for the sins of the world on the cross. She told me very directly that the day her parents found out about her faith in Jesus would be the day that she would have to be prepared to die.

Coming from an Islamic background, I am very aware of what Islam teaches about this. That did not surprise me. This happens all over the world. I have traveled to Muslim countries and have met with former Muslims who became followers of Jesus, and I know of their sacrifice and the real threat to their lives. I just did not expect to see it in Columbus, Ohio. I have never seen such courage and joy from such a little girl who was not allowed to be a part of any church community, and who put her life on the line every day because of her love for Jesus.

After our meeting, I got in the car and wept. I knew she was going right back into a very difficult and abusive family. What was I supposed to do? Should I report this family? What if it backfires, the authorities don't believe her, and her family then decides to kill her or take her out of the country? I did not know what to do with those questions. You know what I did? NOTHING! Out of fear, I convinced myself that she would be ok, and I would just pray for her. I could never forget her however, and each time we would meet with her was a life changing experience for me. In the back of my mind however, I knew that she needed more, but I could not give her what she needed. She needed a loving family to protect her and to nurture her young and profound faith. That sense of guilt never left me. I wanted to do more and protect her, but I couldn't.

When the mosque began to put pressure on her parents regarding her suspected faith, and things got bad at home, I knew about it, but I convinced myself that while she was in danger, it was still manageable. I was wrong. Without rehashing all the details for time's sake, she was forced to flee to Florida out of fear for her life. It was then that I came to grips with what I knew from the beginning...HER LIFE IS IN GRAVE DANGER. Now that her parents knew about her faith in Jesus, there was nothing left to lose. I had to admit it, and that admission prepared me to act and do whatever the Lord laid on my heart to do.

As you know, the Lorenz family in Florida LITERALLY laid down their lives and reputations, and saved her life. They began to provide her with the very thing that she lacked. I knew then that God is a God who answers prayers. He led her where He wanted her to go to receive what she greatly needed. She was filled with joy at her new, yet short lived freedom in Florida. The love that she received from the Lorenz family in that short period of time, in my opinion, brought her much needed healing and encouragement that she now needs for the fight that she finds herself in.

Was she is grave danger then? YES!

That is why her legal team fought tooth and nail to keep her there out of the public eye, far away from her parents and the Islamic community in Ohio that were the very ones who put pressure on her family to 'deal' with her. During this time, a facebook page was even created entitled 'Kill Rifqa Bary'. The facebook page had over 100 members in only an hour before facebook shut it down.

Does that sound like grave danger to you? You decide.

It was also realized during that time that before Rifqa fled her home in Ohio, her family was actively planning to take her out of the country to have her 'dealt' with for being an 'apostate'. Does that sound like grave danger to you? You decide.

Because of this grave danger while she was in Florida, it was suggested that people should write and call the Florida governor's office demanding her protection in the state of Florida. That is what happened, and let me assure you it made a HUGE difference. Nobody objected to that.

Just this week, Rifqa's parents betrayed the ‘behind the scenes’ deal in which the Florida court agreed to drop the contempt of court issue regarding their immigration situation in exchange for an assurance that they would leave Rifqa alone and let her stay in foster care for the next 9 months until she is 18. We can be assured that this betrayal means Rifqa's parents and their C.A.I.R. influenced attorneys have every intention of pursuing her to be reunited to the same family that she fled from now that she is back in Ohio.

Does that sound like grave danger to you? You decide.

Now that she is in Ohio, there is a dependency case in the Franklin County Juvenile court system. If she becomes a dependent of the state of Ohio, she gets permanent residency status and can be a dependent of the state of Ohio until she is 18. I hope and pray for this. If this fails, her legal team does have a plan B.

There is something we all need to know, however. If her dependency case fails, she gets sent back IMMEDIATELY to the very same family she fled from. She will be there until her legal team can put plan B in action and get the proper paperwork filed. That could be 5 hours, 5 days, etc... During this time between plan A & plan B, I expect that her family would attempt to take her out of the country. Proceedings would then have to be put into place quickly to prevent them from getting on a flight out of the country.

Does that sound like grave danger to you? You decide.

With what we have all heard from the Ohio authorities so far, I don't have a lot of confidence in them. They seem to be reading from the C.A.I.R. play book and only hearing one side. Who will remedy that? If she was in grave danger in Florida, which is why the public was urged to get involved and contact the Florida authorities, is she in less danger in Ohio, or more? You decide. Let me also assure you that I have never heard of a situation in which silence ever produced justice. We must speak up in our cry to God, and our cry to the world.

Was it silence that freed the slaves in the British empire, or America?

Was it silence that produced justice in Nazi Germany?

Was it silence that overturned Roe vs. Wade?

Was it silence that prevented the massacre in Rwanda?

Will it be silence that rescues Rifqa Bary and millions of Muslims seeking freedom like her? You decide.

I am convinced that her victory will be accomplished first and foremost through prayer, and from action that is birthed in prayer.

My mind is made up, and I will not make the same mistake twice. Rifqa Bary was in grave danger in Florida, and moving to Ohio has not lessoned that. It has increased it. Let me say this, I know God will ultimately provide His victory, but I cannot in the meantime ignore the truth out of fear facing a difficult reality. Before we all become passive and quiet, consider the words of a man named John Jay. John is a former prosecutor from the state of Washington. Here is what John said about Rifqa's situation in Ohio:

"...I do not share the opinion that she is not in danger in Ohio, mainly due to the proximity of family and the mosque. If her idiot brother would circulate notice of her whereabouts in Florida to websites hostile to Rifqa's apostasy, he would have no compunction about doing the same thing in Ohio...

"I do not share the view that having the Franklin County courts and the Franklin County child services in the light of public notice harms Rifqa in any sense...this public notice assures, in my opinion, that the various authorites will do as their legal charge demands. I think only publicity prevents Rifqa from being railroaded. Finally, we have done nothing other than advocate that she is a dependent child, at risk from her parents, her brother and the mosque. We have advocated only that she be declared a dependent child, and that the appropriate remedy is to prevent her from being placed in the "care" of her parents."

The Quran says that if any [Muslim] takes a life [of himself or another Muslim], it is as if he has killed all of [Muslim] mankind. Note: No part of this verse applies to a non-Muslim, apostate or infidel. For them, it's death, nothing but death.

One person on Facebook said, "As one raised in Islamic nation and home, I can tell you that there is much in the Quran and Islamic Tradition and history that backs the fears that this precious girl has of her conversion to return to the faith of Ibrahim and follow Isa as her LORD and Savior, but thankfully the majority of Muslims in America do not have the powers that Islamic republic of Iran or Saudi Arabia have, and most westernized Muslims are wonderfully quoting many Quranic verses out of its historic context and against Mohammad and the Islamic Imam and Khalif's examples to try to persuade their brand of Islam to be more palatable to a more modern mindset."
