Lewis had some good philosophical ideas and there are benefits to reading material concerning Christian concepts from someone that was not a theologian or philosopher. The background and academic training is different and therefore some of the assumptions and conclusions may be different. I have some disagreements with Lewis and he is not one of my favoured authors, but I do acknowledge that he is often quoted by Christian theologians. Lewis, at least in part, is a must read, basically.
